Meet Chewy! He's a timid but very appreciative adult male Beagle mix who has had a rough start in life, having lived on a chain. Despite his past, Chewy is learning to trust and thrives when he has canine companions, as he's only ever known life with other dogs. He absolutely adores affection and is so grateful for any kindness shown to him. While he's generally friendly with children, Chewy can get nervous around young, energetic kids. He does wonderfully with teens and adults, but he does need gentle encouragement and reassurance to feel comfortable. He's slowly understanding that people are here to love him and not to hurt him.

Ideal Home

Chewy would do best in a home where he can have the company of other dogs, as this is what he knows and what helps him thrive. He needs a patient and understanding family who can provide him with consistent reassurance. While he is learning to be comfortable around children, homes with teenagers and adults, or younger children who are calm and not overly energetic, would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Chewy has been vaccinated with DHPP and dewormed.

Training & Support

Chewy is still learning and needs ongoing reassurance and encouragement. He may benefit from continued positive reinforcement training to build his confidence, especially around new people and in new situations.
