Doofy (Neutered) (Photos 3/9/2025)

Doofy is a magnificent 2-1/2 year old male Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier mix who arrived at our shelter on March 9, 2025, after being found on Tadpole Run Road in the Belpre, Ohio area. He was wearing a collar with a dog tag and a rabies vaccination tag, so we were hopeful he would be reunited with his family. Doofy has a shiny black short smooth coat with a large patch of white on his chest, white paws, a long tail, and a beautiful face with dark brown eyes, a dusting of white on his muzzle, and short floppy ears. He appeared to have a friendly, outgoing personality when he first arrived. This big boy weighs 85 lbs and was fairly strong on a leash. Doofy was neutered on December 15, 2025, and received a rabies vaccination. Unfortunately, Doofy was returned to us after a foster experience because he is not good with other dogs.

Ideal Home

Doofy would do best in a home where he is the only dog. He is okay with cats but plays rough with them, so a home without cats or with very sturdy cats would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Doofy is neutered and up-to-date on his rabies vaccination.

Training & Support

Doofy can be strong on leash and would benefit from continued leash training. He is not good with other dogs.
