Brownie is a 4-year-old, 35 lb male Labrador mix with a heart full of energy and affection. He was rescued as a puppy and bravely overcame severe mange, which left him with some charming scars and patches of white fur. After spending 4 years in a shelter, Brownie is eager to find a home where he can finally experience life on his own terms. He has a playful spirit, a fascination with water, and a deep love for people, especially when they offer hugs and pets. Brownie's journey has been one of resilience, and he's ready for a new adventure with a patient and loving family.
Ideal Home
Brownie would thrive in a home with an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a securely fenced backyard. He needs a family with experience in dog behavior and training, or a strong willingness to hire a trainer. Due to his past, he requires high tolerance and patience, especially as he adjusts to new environments and learns new skills.
Ongoing Health
Brownie is up-to-date on all his vaccinations, including DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella. He has been dewormed, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm and 4DX. He is on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention with Nexgard Spectra. He also has a spay/neuter certificate and a health certificate from a veterinarian.
Training & Support
Brownie is an energetic boy who loves to chew and has worn teeth from gnawing on various items. He is not yet leash-trained and can become stressed when confined for long periods, though he does know how to use a crate. He will need significant patience and positive reinforcement to help him channel his energy constructively and learn appropriate behaviors. A commitment to consistent training and structure will be key to his success.

Transportation
Brownie is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is available for transport to the East Coast of the US as part of our cross-country trips. Transport is available via a partnered company, with scheduled trips 3-4 times a year. A transport fee of $400 USD is required. You will receive real-time updates on his journey, and he will be delivered directly to your home.
