Elmo is a charming 10-month-old Great Pyrenees mix with a heart of gold. He came to us after a difficult experience where he was shot in the hip, and the bullet remains lodged near his spine. The great news is that this bullet has become fully encapsulated, and veterinary specialists have determined that removing it would be more dangerous than leaving it as is. This medical history doesn't define Elmo; he's a healthy, comfortable pup with a long and happy life ahead of him! He is sweet, resilient, and quietly brave, greeting the world with trust and calm despite his past challenges. Elmo is ready for a safe home filled with soft beds and plenty of snacks.
Ideal Home
Elmo would do best in a home that understands he doesn't need to be an extreme sports enthusiast to be a wonderful companion. While he enjoys his walks and playtime, he should avoid high-impact activities like excessive leaping or climbing in the immediate future. He's good with other dogs and loves people. He has shown mild interest in cats, so a home with dog-savvy cats might be suitable. Due to his medical history and size, we recommend children over 10 or sturdy children who are old enough to understand Elmo's needs.
Ongoing Health
Elmo has a bullet lodged near his spine that is encapsulated and does not require removal, as it poses no current health risks and attempting to remove it would be riskier. He is otherwise healthy and comfortable.
Training & Support
Elmo is a young dog who will grow into a large adult. He appreciates a comfortable dog bed where he can relax.
