Tommy is a charming 10-month-old male Terrier mix, currently weighing around 27 lbs and expected to reach approximately 37 lbs. Born on April 10, 2024, Tommy was rescued and is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico. He's a sweet and affectionate boy who is learning to trust people and can be a little shy with new faces. Tommy is very active and loves to run and play with his dog friends. He was born at the shelter after his pregnant mother was rescued.
Ideal Home
Tommy would thrive in a home with families who understand the unique needs and behaviors of rescue animals and are committed to providing them with patience and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, along with a high tolerance for puppies who are still learning. It's important to realize that rescue dogs may have experienced trauma and will need time to adjust to a new environment.
Ongoing Health
Tommy is up-to-date on his health protocols. He has a spay/neuter certificate, received two DHPPI vaccines, a rabies vaccine, and a Bordetella vaccine. He has been dewormed and microchipped. Tommy also has a 4DX test and certificate, a negative heartworm test certificate, and is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. He comes with a health certificate and vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
Please note that Tommy is not house-trained. It's important to understand that rescue organizations often have many animals and cannot house-train each one. Patience and understanding will be key as Tommy adjusts and learns.
