Meet Athena! This approximately 2-year-old, 37-pound husky mix is small in size but huge in personality. She's spayed, heartworm negative, vaccinated, and potty trained, all ready to burst into your life!
Athena is a classic husky: intelligent, playful, a little stubborn, and overflowing with affection. She thinks she's a lap dog and has no concept of personal space, wanting to be part of all your activities. She doesn't just enter a room; she makes an entrance, often pushing doors (and sometimes people!) out of the way.
While kennel trained, a strong kennel is recommended as Athena likes to test the limits of wire crates when she's feeling mischievous. Huskies will be huskies!
Athena enjoys the company of other dogs, especially those her size or smaller. She did well with a calm senior Labrador after proper introductions and would likely do best with canine pals who are gentle and not overly boisterous.
When it comes to meals, Athena is a discerning eater. She prefers one large meal daily, loves treats, and has mastered the art of picking out the best bits while leaving her kibble. She's also particular about her water, sticking to bowls and avoiding buckets – she once got her head stuck in a water jug because she refused to drink from a bucket!
Athena is also a dedicated furniture lover. She enjoys lounging on couches and claiming the best spot in the house. If your furniture is off-limits to dogs, Athena would like to respectfully decline your adoption application.
Athena was found by a compassionate family who took her in rather than leaving her to fend for herself. She quickly bonded with their teenage children, showcasing her loving and affectionate nature. Upon arrival, she had some fly damage on her ears and an untreated eye infection, signs of a tough start. Today, she's healthy, happy, and eager for a family to call her own.
If you're searching for a stunning blue-eyed husky who will provide endless laughs, keep your couch cozy, and always be right by your side, Athena might be the one for you!
Ideal Home
Athena loves furniture and must have access to it. She prefers calm canine companions and would thrive with respectful dogs her size or smaller.
Ongoing Health
Athena is spayed, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines.
Training & Support
She is potty trained and kennel trained, though a sturdy kennel is recommended. She can be a bit of a door and people-pusher when excited, so some gentle guidance on personal space will be beneficial.
