Meet Bucky!
Bucky is a loyal, loving five-year-old dog who is searching for his second chance at a good life. He's the kind of dog who leads with his heart, is incredibly devoted, and is one of the best snuggle buddies you will ever meet. This sweet Labrador Retriever and American Pitbull Terrier mix is ready to be your shadow, your co-pilot, and your best friend. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and proudly knows commands like sit, shake, come, and leave it. Bucky also has a special talent for car rides, squeaky toys, and earning every belly rub he can get. Sweet, goofy, and impressively intelligent, Bucky is a true thinker who picks up new commands quickly and learns with ease. His smarts suggest the sky is the limit when it comes to training, and with the right guidance, he could go far in mastering advanced obedience, learning fun new tricks, or simply becoming the most well-mannered companion. He bonds deeply with his people and thrives in a calm, structured home where he can soak up all the attention. With his handsome, cream-colored coat and big, huggable frame, he is a whole lot of love who knows exactly how to make himself at home on the couch beside you.
Ideal Home
Bucky will thrive as the only pet in the home. With an experienced guardian, he may be able to share his space with a calm, giant-breed companion. Due to his high prey drive, he is not suited to homes with cats or small animals. After an altercation in his foster home, he has shown some reactivity around pushy or assertive dogs.
Ongoing Health
Loud noises like hair dryers are not his favorite, and nail trims make him very nervous.
Training & Support
Bucky has continued to make wonderful progress in foster care and has really flourished with consistency, structure, and care. His foster family has put a tremendous amount of love and dedication into helping him grow. He bonds deeply with his people and thrives in a calm, structured home where he can soak up all the attention. His foster dad currently handles nail trims with few problems, which is exactly the kind of devotion Bucky offers when he feels safe.

Transporation
Bucky is currently in Charlotte, NC. His family is willing to travel long-distance for the right home and is committed to helping Bucky get to the family where he truly belongs.
