Meet Benson!

Benson is a gentle, five-year-old mixed breed with a beautiful cream coat and soulful eyes. He's a large boy, weighing about 75 pounds, and carries himself with a thoughtful charm. Benson is incredibly loyal, sensitive, and devoted, making him a wonderful companion. He loves being close to his people, whether it's joining you for a car ride, lounging by the window, or snuggling up on the couch. He's a smart cookie and knows a variety of commands, including "sit," "stay," "come," "kisses," and "snuggle"! When he's not busy being your best friend, Benson enjoys chasing balls, playing enrichment games, swimming, and indulging in a good chew.

Ideal Home

Benson would thrive in a calm, structured environment with a securely fenced yard that's at least six feet tall, as he can be a jumper. He needs a home where he feels safe, supported, and understood. He is not compatible with cats and needs an adult-only home.

Ongoing Health

Benson requires daily medication to manage his allergies and support his emotional balance, ensuring he feels comfortable and happy.

Training & Support

Benson can be sensitive to sudden movements or sounds and may take a moment to warm up to new people. He walks well on leash but can sometimes pull, so continued positive reinforcement training will be beneficial. Benson is selective with other dogs and can be reactive towards unfamiliar ones. While he has lived with multiple dogs, there has been tension with one specific dog, leading to an altercation. He would do best as the only dog in the home or with a caregiver experienced in structured, gradual introductions with positive reinforcement.
