Nova II is a handsome 10-year-old white boxer boy who is an owner surrender due to his owner's health issues and his not getting along with other dogs in the home. He is described as friendly, shy, playful, affectionate, and nervous. Nova II is a proud member of the rescue's Silver Heart program, which offers many perks for his adoptive family. He currently lives with an English bulldog, but they are no longer getting along. He has never lived with a cat, so his feline friendliness is uncertain. There are no children in his home, but he has had extended exposure to his owner's 5-year-old nephew and does great with him. He is house-trained but will need assistance learning crate training manners in his forever home if required. At night, he sleeps on a dog bed on the floor. When left alone, he experiences separation anxiety because he wants to be with his humans. He does not attempt to jump fences/gates but will dig to investigate what is under the grass. His favorite things include his bed, playing, being outside, affection, and treats.
Ideal Home
Nova II would thrive in a home where he can be the sole dog or with a carefully selected companion dog. He has done well with a young child and would likely do well in a home with children. He needs a family who can provide him with patience and understanding as he adjusts to his new environment, especially regarding his nervousness and separation anxiety.
Ongoing Health
Nova II has some arthritis and a mass on his kidney.
