Eddie is a gentle, sweet, and sensitive young Labrador mix who is looking for a patient and loving forever home. He is approximately 1.5 years old and weighs around 37 lbs. Eddie can be a bit nervous and shy, especially with physical contact, and may keep his distance initially. However, with time, patience, and kindness, he blossoms into an affectionate and playful companion who enjoys walks and gives sweet kisses once he feels safe. He gets along well with other dogs, children, men, and women.
Ideal Home
Eddie would thrive in a calm and understanding environment where he feels secure, as he is sensitive to loud noises like fireworks and thunder. He needs a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. Families with a genuine intention to rescue and a deep understanding of the needs and behaviors of street animals will be ideal. Experience in dog behavior and training is preferred, or a willingness to hire a trainer.
Ongoing Health
Eddie has received a comprehensive health protocol including being spayed/neutered, vaccinated for DHPPI and rabies, Bordetella vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. He has also tested negative for heartworm and 4DX, and is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm.
Training & Support
Eddie is not house-trained, which is common for rescued dogs as it's a significant undertaking for the rescue organization. He requires patience and understanding as he adjusts to a new environment. Building trust and providing a safe space are key to his successful integration into your home.
