NICO

Meet Nico, an adolescent mixed breed with a heart full of love to give! Nico came to us when his previous guardian could no longer care for him. We suspect he's a delightful mix of Australian Shepherd and possibly some sort of pittie, but his exact heritage is a charming mystery. Nico was found as a stray pup with his littermates and was later adopted into a home where he socialized with dogs, cats, and children. While he lived outdoors previously, Nico is eager to become a cherished member of a family. He's an active boy who loves walks and playtime with his toys. Staff have found him to be a goofy companion who leans in for pets and generously shares his kisses. With a slow and thoughtful introduction, Nico may do well in a home with other animals. If you have a resident dog, we recommend they meet Nico here at the shelter before adoption.

Ideal Home

Nico is an active guy who would thrive in a home that can provide him with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation through walks and play. He's looking for a family who will be patient as he adjusts to indoor living and continues his potty training. Nico may do well with other animals, provided introductions are managed carefully.

Nico is still working on his potty training and will need continued patience and consistency from his new family.

Transporation

Nico is located at our Santa Cruz shelter. You can visit him during our open hours of 11 am to 6 pm, 7 days a week. To meet an animal outside of their kennel, please arrive before 4:00 pm to allow ample time for introductions and discussions.
