Oakley

Oakley is a one-year-old Golden Retriever who is as sweet as can be! He weighs about 60 lbs and could use a few extra pounds to fill out his fuzzy-wuzzy frame. Oakley is good with dogs, indifferent to cats, and would be fine with older children who are respectful of his needs. He can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but once he gets to know his humans, he becomes incredibly affectionate. He knows a few basic commands like "sit" and "paw" and is house-trained, as he keeps his kennel clean. Oakley has a moderate energy level and enjoys a nice walk on a leash. He's a quiet fellow who doesn't bark much, and he's gentle and patient, always wagging his tail and looking for belly rubs!

Oakley would do well in a home with older children who are respectful of his needs.

Ongoing Health

Oakley was born with congenital bilateral cataracts and detached retinas. The specialist does not believe his sight can be restored. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and heartworm negative. He received a Proheart 6 injection and will not need additional heartworm preventative for 6 months.

Training & Support

Oakley is house-trained and walks nicely on a leash, even going potty on the leash without hesitation.
