Atlas

Atlas is a friendly and affectionate 2.5-year-old Lab/Golden Retriever mix who loves people, other dogs, and the water. He was essentially a backyard dog with minimal training and socialization before coming to us, but he has a great foundation and is eager to learn. Atlas knows basic commands like sit, shake, lay down, and is crate trained. He is good with cats and has lived with children ages 6-9. Atlas is food motivated and takes treats gently. He sleeps in his crate at night and can be left alone for up to four hours. He also does well in the car and is getting more comfortable with rides. Atlas' father was a black Lab and his mother a Golden Retriever.

Ideal Home

Atlas would do best in an active home that can provide consistent exercise, structure, and companionship. He has shown some protective behavior around his foster, which appears manageable with proper and structured introductions.

Ongoing Health

Atlas will be neutered, heartworm tested, and microchipped. He is up to date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Atlas would benefit from continued practice with leash walking, as he has had limited opportunities for regular walks. He needs some help with heeling, but responds well to direction.
