Lita & Ford - CO

Lita and Ford are two 5-year-old St. Bernard mix sisters who are looking for a home where they can continue their guardian duties. They previously lived on a ranch, where they protected their owner's pigs and mini horses. After their owner passed away, they came to a sanctuary with the hope of continuing their guardian work. They are excellent at their jobs and will keep any unwanted visitors away from the property. Lita and Ford have never shown aggression towards pigs, horses, or humans, but they are very aggressive towards other dogs and cats due to never being exposed to them. This has created a dangerous situation at the sanctuary, so they are looking for a home where they won't have to interact with other animals.

Ideal Home

These sweet girls would thrive in a home without any other dogs or cats. They would be perfect guardians for a livestock ranch, especially one with a coyote problem. A home with strong fences is a must.

Ongoing Health

Lita and Ford are spayed and up to date on all their vaccinations, with their next shots due in December.

Training & Support

Lita and Ford are naturally protective and will do their job of guarding. They have never shown aggression towards humans, pigs, or horses, but their strong guarding instincts extend to other dogs and cats. They need a home that understands and can manage this specific behavior.
