Raquel

Raquel is an eleven-month-old Anatolian Shepherd who came to us from a difficult situation where her elderly owners were overwhelmed by over 40 dogs. While the dogs were cared for physically, they lacked the socialization needed to thrive in a typical home. Raquel is a beautiful, sweet girl who is working hard to overcome her past. She is a little unsure of new things, but with patience and understanding, she is blossoming every day. She wants to trust and be close, and she is making steady progress. Raquel is not completely shut down, but she does need a little time to process new experiences.

Ideal Home

Raquel needs a home that understands she is inexperienced with indoor living, leash walking, and everyday household activities. A securely fenced yard is required. She would greatly benefit from having a confident, friendly dog in the home to learn from and look to as an example. Due to her being easily startled, we are recommending a home with children over the age of 10. She is good with other dogs and fine with cats.

Raquel is still learning about indoor living, leash walking, and household routines. Patience, routine, and consistency will be key to her success.
