Mabel

Mabel is a 5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix who has overcome a lot in her life. She came to us as a stray, suffering from mange, malnourishment, an eye infection, and heartworm. Due to her poor health, she had to be spayed immediately, even though she was heavily pregnant. Despite her challenging past, Mabel is incredibly sweet, friendly towards people and children, and is now realizing how much fun playing can be! She's around 40 pounds and loves to be held, kissed, and snuggled. Mabel also enjoys walks and is discovering the joy of playtime.

Ideal Home

Mabel is people and kid-friendly. However, she is reactive to cats and is selective with other dogs, likely due to being crated extensively in her past.

Ongoing Health

Mabel is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, which is fully covered by her adoption fee. Her skin is also looking much better since arriving.

Training & Support

Mabel is house-trained. As she was crated a lot in her previous situation, she may need continued positive reinforcement to build confidence with other dogs.
