Meet Tonka!
Tonka is a big, goofy, and lovable Akita with a silly personality and plenty of affection to share. He absolutely loves walks, frozen Kongs, puzzle toys, squeaky toys, and anything that keeps his intelligent mind engaged. When he gets excited, he's all about enthusiastic kisses, and he's diligently learning his manners every day.
Ideal Home
Tonka is looking for an experienced, breed-savvy adopter who understands the unique traits and needs of Akitas and is committed to providing structure, training, and proper management. He would thrive with an active family and a securely fenced yard where he can stretch his legs and enjoy supervised outdoor time. Due to his strong prey drive and interest in cats and small animals, he may be happiest as the only pet in the home. Any introductions to other pets should be done slowly and thoughtfully, as we are still learning Tonka's preferences.

Training & Support
Tonka's ideal family will appreciate his goofy spirit and continue his training. Understanding that building trust and maintaining boundaries are key to helping him succeed is important. In return, you'll gain a loyal, entertaining companion with a huge heart and plenty of personality.
Application Details:
- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
- All of our dogs are located in a foster home in Texas or Pennsylvania.
- Our out-of-state adoption fee is $350 plus transport (varies by location).
- The adoption fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, a registered microchip, fecal analysis, spay/neuter for pets 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old.
- All dogs will be current on flea/heartworm prevention.
- A health exam will be completed and a certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days.
- Our animal adoptions are not on a first-come, first-served basis. Our sole purpose is to find the best possible home for the animals that fall under our care.
Transporation
Tonka is being fostered in Texas but is available for transport to an agreed-upon location.
