Sansa

Sansa is a delightful 10-month-old Chihuahua–Cocker Spaniel mix, weighing around 10 lbs. She was born on April 18, 2025, and is looking for her forever family. Despite being surrendered by her previous family, Sansa remains a loving, happy, and playful pup eager to start her next adventure. She is already house-trained for yard business and crate-trained. Sansa gets along wonderfully with cats, other dogs, and people of all ages. She might bark at new people initially as a way to be alert, but with a little patience and reassurance, she quickly warms up and shows her affectionate and sweet nature. Sansa loves to play and would thrive in a home that can provide her with continued love, guidance, and consistency to help her build confidence and feel secure.

Ideal Home

A home that will continue to guide her with love and consistency, helping her build confidence and feel safe. A fenced backyard is required. Sansa would do best with an active family that enjoys outdoor activities, and who has a genuine intention to rescue a dog. Families should have an open mind about the behaviors of rescued animals and understand their need for protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, or a willingness to hire a trainer is a must. High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are essential.

Ongoing Health

Sansa has received the following health treatments: Spay/Neuter Certificate, 2 DHPPI Vaccines, Rabies Vaccine, Bordetella Vaccine, Deworming, Microchip, 4DX Test and Certificate, Negative Heartworm Test Certificate, and monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive protection. She also has a Health Certificate and a Vaccines booklet.

Training & Support

Sansa is not house-trained. It is important to understand that rescued dogs may have experienced trauma and require an adjustment period. Patience, understanding, and consistency are crucial for building trust and helping Sansa feel secure in her new environment.

Application Details:

• You will need to fill out an adoption form.
• Photos and videos of your home are required to ensure your future furry friend will be safe.
• If your application is a match, we will schedule a call or video chat to introduce you to Sansa and conduct a virtual home tour.
• 1-2 references will be spoken with.
• If approved, you will sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which covers vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, food, and more.

Transportation

Sansa is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on a cross-country trip if adopted. Transportation is available door-to-door for a one-time fee of $400 USD. This fee covers the journey from Mexico to your home. Our transport company organizes 3-4 trips per year, with a minimum of 15-20 adoptions per trip. Pets are accompanied by a dedicated team, and all necessary legal documents, including a Transport Contract and USDA Health Certificate, are provided. Real-time updates will be shared in a private Facebook Messenger group, including photos and videos of your pet's journey, feeding and walking schedules, and estimated arrival times. The transport team will conduct a final home review upon delivery.
