About Ferris
Meet Ferris!
If you're looking for a sweet, gentle companion who is happiest simply being by your side, Ferris may be your perfect match.
Ferris is a calm, easygoing puppy with a soft, loving personality. While he can be a little reserved when meeting new people, it doesn't take long for his sweet nature to shine through. Once he trusts you, he is incredibly affectionate and loves spending quiet time with his favorite humans.
Unlike many puppies, Ferris has a naturally relaxed temperament. He enjoys adventures, but he's just as happy lounging around the house, cuddling up for a nap, or working on a tasty chew bone.
His foster describes him best:
"Ferris is an absolute delight to foster!"
Ferris' Favorite Activities Leisurely walks and neighborhood strolls Car rides and tagging along on errands Sniffing and exploring new places Hiking and outdoor adventures Coffee shop and patio outings Park visits Playing with other dogs Chewing on bones and enrichment chews Treat puzzles and food enrichment games Cuddling with his people Napping in a cozy spot Quiet one-on-one bonding time
Ferris loves other dogs and enjoys having canine friends around. He also gets along well with cats and enjoys sharing his space with them. He likes children but would rather calmly coexist than participate in rowdy games, making him a great fit for families looking for a gentle companion.
What Ferris Is Working On
Like most puppies, Ferris is continuing to learn leash manners and can occasionally pull when something catches his attention. His foster family is helping him build confidence in new environments and exposing him to new experiences at a pace that allows him to feel safe and successful.
Because Ferris is food motivated and eager to please, he has been a joy to train and continues to make great progress every day.
Ferris' Story
While we don't know exactly what happened to Ferris before he came into rescue, we do know that his past appears to have been a difficult one.
When Ferris arrived, he had extensive scarring and skin damage covering much of his body. Based on his condition, it is believed that he may have suffered severe chemical burns or other traumatic injuries before coming into rescue. Because of this, portions of his coat may never grow in fully.
Whatever happened to Ferris is heartbreaking to think about. Yet despite everything he endured, he remains one of the sweetest, gentlest, and most loving dogs you could ever meet.
He doesn't hold a grudge. He doesn't dwell on the past. Instead, Ferris chooses to trust, love, and enjoy life. Watching him learn that people can be kind has been incredibly rewarding, and seeing him blossom into the happy, affectionate dog he is today has been nothing short of amazing.
His scars tell a story, but they do not define him. Ferris is so much more than what happened to him. He is kind, resilient, affectionate, and deserving of a family that will love him for exactly who he is.
Ferris' Perfect Home
Ferris would do well in a variety of homes, including:
First-time dog owners Families with children Homes with other dogs Homes with cats Active families who enjoy outings and adventures Calm households looking for a gentle companion
Sweet, calm, affectionate, and incredibly easy to love, Ferris is the kind of dog who makes every day a little brighter. If you're looking for a loyal best friend who is happy to join you on an adventure and then curl up beside you afterward, Ferris is ready to meet you.
