MADAME

Meet Madame! This sweet 3-year-old, 37# Black Lab mix is a real gem with a happy disposition and a passion for people. She's an active girl who loves walks and playtime in the yard, and she's a fast learner who thrives on praise, cuddles, and treats. Madame is a wonderful companion and family dog who gets along famously with children of all ages. She's also very dog-social and has enjoyed playing with dogs of all ages, sizes, and genders.

Ideal Home

Madame would thrive in a loving home with someone who has experience with special needs dogs, as she has a history of neglect and a past injury that resulted in the amputation of her left rear leg and the removal of a bullet from her chest. Ideally, someone would be home with her most of the time, and a secure, fenced yard is required to keep her safe. We recommend children 10+ who are kind and dog-savvy due to her amputation. While Madame loves people, she has shown some separation anxiety and will try to escape the yard to find companionship, so a secure enclosure is a must. Her history with cats is unknown, but she has chased on her property.

Ongoing Health

Madame is a survivor! She was shot in her left rear leg, requiring amputation, and an additional bullet was removed from her chest. She is a brave girl who has overcome a lot and is ready for a loving, understanding home. All dogs from Wags receive up-to-date vaccinations, are spayed/neutered, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Madame is a treat-motivated, fast learner who enjoys praise and cuddles. She does require someone with special needs experience due to her past. Her known issue is separation anxiety, and she may try to escape the yard to find human companionship. A secure, fenced yard is essential.
