Onyx

Meet Onyx, a sweet 7-year-old Chi Dachshund mix weighing around 20lbs! This charming girl has a calm, gentle spirit and a personality that will make you smile every day. Onyx was rescued from the euthanasia list at an overcrowded shelter in Houston and has been showing everyone just how special she is. She’s currently being fostered in San Antonio, but is ready to find her forever home.

Ideal Home

Onyx is an older gal with a bit of arthritis, so she enjoys a slower pace. She would do best in a household with a semi-active to low activity level where she can enjoy short walks and plenty of relaxing time. She has done well with respectful children ages 7-12 and would do best with older, dog-savvy children.

Ongoing Health

Onyx is spayed, vaccinated, and up to date on all her preventatives. She has a bit of arthritis.

Training & Support

Onyx is house-trained and sleeps in her crate at night by choice. She can be crated up to 10 hours if needed. She doesn’t resource guard, shows no food aggression, and can be trusted to free roam the house without being destructive. She can get a little excited on leash when greeting new dog friends.

Transporation

Onyx is located in San Antonio, TX. Transports run every few weeks and she can be transported out of state to the right approved adopter.
