Meet Otis! This handsome 2-year-old, 50-pound American Staffordshire Terrier mix is neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready for his forever home. Otis was adopted as a puppy but sadly returned to a shelter due to a severe skin condition. Thankfully, his foster has worked wonders, and he's now thriving with a shiny, healthy coat and a heart full of joy. Otis is sweet, goofy, and loves people dearly, often using a gentle paw to remind you when it's time for more pets. He's very responsive to positive reinforcement and eager to please.
Otis is a social butterfly with other dogs, playful and respectful of their space. He lives happily with dogs of various sizes and would love a canine sibling in his new home, though he can be a bit shy when meeting new friends initially. He has a great energy balance, enjoying playtime but also happy to be a couch potato. He walks well on a leash with some initial excitement, loves car rides, and even tolerates baths. Otis is house-trained, potty-trained, and crate-trained, settling in well with a Kong. He shows no signs of separation anxiety, destruction, food aggression, or resource guarding. He's fed separately for ease.
Ideal Home
Otis would do best in a moderately active home that appreciates snuggles. While he hasn't been around cats, he would likely do best with dog-savvy older children due to his size and enthusiastic jumping.
Ongoing Health
Otis has recovered from a severe skin condition thanks to his foster's care and now has a healthy coat.
Training & Support
Otis is house-trained, potty-trained, and crate-trained. He is fed separately to keep things calm. He can be a little shy when meeting new dogs but warms up quickly. He may pull slightly on leash at the start of walks.
