Tia (waiting for over a year!)

Tia is a resilient, smart, happy, energetic, athletic, and people-pleasing girl who has been waiting for her forever home for over a year! We don't know why this sweet girl is still with us, as black dogs often face challenges in finding their families. Tia is a playful and energetic companion who absolutely loves to retrieve anything you throw for her. She's also very affectionate and enjoys spending quality time with her people.

Tia is incredibly smart and learns quickly. She seems to enjoy training and is highly treat-motivated, making her a joy to work with.

Ideal Home

Tia would thrive in a home where she can receive one-on-one attention. She is longing for someone to spend quality time with her and show her how wonderful it is to be part of a family. Due to resource guarding with other dogs, we are seeking a home where Tia will be the only pet.

Ongoing Health

Tia is current on all her vetting and is ready for her new home.

Training & Support

Tia is doggie door trained. She does guard her food with other dogs, which is managed in her current foster home by feeding her separately. An experienced dog owner who is looking for a dog that thrives on engagement would be a great fit for Tia.

Transportation

Tia is an out-of-town listing. We transport dogs to the city on this listing. We personally transport our own adopted animals to meet their new families every 2-3 weeks. We facilitate adoptions through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to VA, MD, PA, NJ, CT, VT, and NY.
