Meet Lelaini! This 1-year-old, 8-pound female chihuahua mix is a true cuddle bug who arrived in rescue feeling very scared. Thankfully, she's blossomed in her foster home and is now ready to find her forever family! Lelaini absolutely adores snuggling and will do anything for affection, even learning to sit in just one day to get pets. While she loves being close to her people, her foster mom is helping her gain a bit more independence and encouraging her to enjoy playtime outside. She's still a bit of a shadow, so watch your step! Lelaini also has a fondness for small toys, particularly cat toys. She's working on leash manners and potty training, but with consistency and patience, she'll master these in no time. She enjoys the company of other small dogs and even gets along with cats, though it's best to keep her away from the litter box! Lelaini can be a little shy with new people, but she warms up quickly and can become incredibly devoted to her person. She hasn't been around children. A word to the wise: Lelaini can be protective of her food and eats very quickly, so a slow feeder is a must to prevent her from choking. She has plenty of puppy energy but is happiest when curled up by your neck, gazing lovingly into your eyes. She's simply ridiculously adorable!
Ideal Home
Lelaini thrives on affection and close companionship. She enjoys the company of other small, playful dogs and cats, but would likely do best as a devoted companion to a single person who can give her all the love and attention she craves.
Ongoing Health
Lelaini has been spayed, is up to date on all her vaccines, is heartworm negative, microchipped, and has had a recent dental cleaning.
Training & Support
Lelaini is still working on leash training and potty training. She can be a bit feisty over food and requires a slow feeder to eat safely. With patience and positive reinforcement, she will continue to make progress.
