My name is Kita, and I'm a sweet 8-year-old girl looking for my forever home! I used to live at a commercial breeding facility, but now that life is behind me. I'm healthy, spayed, and up-to-date on vaccinations, weighing just under 25 lbs. This is my first time living in a home, and while I'm still a bit shy and cautious, I'm learning to trust my foster family and enjoy their affection. Sometimes I even sneak in for pets and give little kisses or hop on the couch! I'm curious about new people but tend to hang back until I know them. My absolute favorite thing is being outside, whether I'm playing with other dogs in the yard or just enjoying my "wild Shiba" moments. I might even give a good HOWL to let my foster mom know I'm enjoying myself!

Ideal Home

I'm looking for a calm, quiet home where I can continue to adjust to this new life. I'd love a couple of cozy, soft spots to call my own and a kind person to offer gentle pets and the occasional hotdog. Loud noises and sudden movements can startle me, making me want to bolt and hide, so extra care will be needed when opening doors. A securely fenced yard for playing is a must, and I'd also enjoy having a dog friend or two to romp with.

I'm a healthy girl who has been spayed and is up-to-date on all my vaccinations.

Training & Support

I'm still learning about the world and how to interact with humans. While I'm gaining confidence, I still need patience and understanding. I'm making great progress with leash walking and am getting used to it, and I'm already house-trained and don't chew things up when left alone.
