Meet Judah Lewis, a handsome white and brindle Pit Bull Terrier mix whose heart is as full of love as his story is ready for a happy ending! Judah arrived at Melissa's Second Chances as a stray alongside his very best friend, Lo. Lo has since found their forever home, and now it's Judah's turn to shine!
Judah is the total package – sweet, affectionate, and endlessly loyal. He absolutely adores people, whether it's one-on-one attention or being part of a family. He forms strong bonds quickly and during a recent furlough from the shelter, Judah proved just how wonderful he is in a home environment. He's fully house-trained, has excellent manners, and can free roam without a single issue. He's a calm and respectful companion who loves to relax after some playtime.
Ideal Home
Judah has a medium energy level, enjoying walks and playtime, but he truly lives for a good cuddle session at the end of the day. He's dog-friendly with pups of all sizes and has been introduced to rabbits, goats, turkeys, and even cows, though he remains a bit suspicious of the latter! He's also shown curiosity, but no aggression, around cats and with proper introductions, could potentially learn to live alongside one. Judah absolutely loves people, though he can get excited and jump up, so a home with older children would be a better fit as he continues working on his manners. Judah can also jump fences, likely in pursuit of something that piques his curiosity. The good news is he never runs off and comes right back. To keep his adventurous side in check, he'll do best with a tall, secure fence or diligent leash walks.
Ongoing Health
Judah is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and has been heartworm tested, dewormed, and is current on prevention medications.
Training & Support
Judah is house-trained and has excellent manners when he's not over-excited. He can get excited and jump up on people, so continued training with positive reinforcement, especially around greetings, will be beneficial. His fence-jumping behavior will require supervision and a secure outdoor space.
