Zip

Zip is a 6-month-old, 26lb male Miniature Schnauzer mix who is taking brave steps toward trusting the world around him. He arrived at our shelter very unsocialized, so he is learning all about life as a family dog. Zip is beginning to come out of his shell, greeting us at the front of his kennel for attention and even taking a few tentative steps on a leash. While he's still a bit unsure of new people and situations, his confidence is growing every day with gentle encouragement and patience.

Ideal Home

Zip needs a patient and understanding family who can help him learn what it means to be a confident dog. A predictable routine and positive reinforcement will be key to helping him blossom. He is comfortable with the dogs he came with and is learning to meet new dogs appropriately, so continued socialization with slow introductions will be important.

Ongoing Health

Zip has not yet been neutered, but this will be done prior to adoption.

Training & Support

Because Zip missed out on early socialization, he will need guidance on how to navigate the world as a family pet. Patience and positive reinforcement will be essential as he continues to gain confidence. He is still learning how to interact with new dogs appropriately.
