Zac is a handsome 5-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix who weighs about 60 pounds. He's a loyal companion with a perfect balance of playful energy and laid-back cuddles. Zac was rescued from euthanasia at a county shelter and, after some medical attention for a leg injury, he's now healed and ready to find his forever home. He's house-trained, crate-trained, and loves to be near his people, offering loving gazes and sweet conversations (especially around dinner time!). Zac has a surprisingly vocal personality and we suspect there might be some Husky in his mix!
Ideal Home
Zac thrives on companionship and would do best in a home where he won't be left alone for long periods. He enjoys having other dogs around and seems happiest when he has canine friends or people nearby to share his life with. While he hasn't lived with young children, his foster believes he'd do well with a family willing to help him learn not to jump up when excited.
Ongoing Health
Zac underwent FHO surgery on a back leg to address a previous injury. He has fully healed from this procedure and requires no further medical intervention or medication.
Training & Support
Zac is house-trained and crate-trained. He has excellent canine manners, is calm on walks, and doesn't react to other dogs. His foster notes that he can be enthusiastic when greeting people and may need continued gentle guidance to discourage jumping when excited. He has shown no signs of resource guarding.
