About WOLFIE > Bleeding Heart Society

Wolfie is a gorgeous and unique approximately one-year-old boy who weighs 63 lbs. He's very people-friendly, shows no reaction to kitties, loves children, and has not displayed any reactivity towards other dogs. Wolfie is an athletic, high-energy boy who thoroughly enjoys activity and joyful play. He absolutely adores kisses, hugs, and snuggles, soaking up all the affection he can get. This sweetheart also takes treats gently, even high-value ones!

Despite spending a good portion of his life in isolation, Wolfie is a very smart dog who is in tune with communication. He can sit on command without any training! While we haven't had the opportunity to test it, we imagine he is brave and protective. Everyone comments on Wolfie's striking, coyote-like coloring.

Wolfie loves life, which includes treats, walks, adventures, and attention. He's very food-motivated, but would choose walks and adventures over treats any day. Like many Huskies, he's not a fan of being cooped up. He's fairly independent and has a knack for making you laugh. Wolfie is clean in his kennel and we believe with consistent structure, he will learn quickly. He has no storm or separation anxiety, and no known behavioral issues.

Wolfie is excited when he first starts a walk and loves to explore scents, but once he's had his fill, he follows instructions well and isn't much of a puller. He behaves well in the car and has no issues. Wolfie has a very high food drive, with the mantra "no crumb left behind." His prey drive is likely standard, as we haven't observed anything unusual.

Ideal Home

Wolfie would do well with an active family or an individual/couple who enjoys activities like hiking and is eager to engage with him. As Wolfie has never lived in a house before, he would require a slow introduction to indoor living but we expect he would adjust well with time.

Ongoing Health

Wolfie has no known health concerns.

Training & Support

Wolfie will need some time to adjust to living in a house. Consistent structure and a slow introduction to his new environment will be key to his success.
