About Wally

This fun-loving, energetic boy is ready to bring joy (and lots of playtime!) into his next home. Wally was recently surrendered due to an unstable living situation that made it difficult to keep up with his medical needs, but he’s eager for a fresh start with a family who can give him the care and consistency he deserves. Wally is incredibly friendly and has a great history with both kids and other dogs. He absolutely loves being around people and will happily greet you with a wiggly body and lots of enthusiasm. He can be a little jumpy when excited, but it’s all part of his happy, outgoing personality. When it comes to fun, Wally is all in—he loves playing fetch and his favorite toys are balls and rope toys. He’s crate trained and potty trained, making him a great candidate for an easy transition into a new home. Wally may have some separation anxiety, as he’s been known to get into things if left alone to free roam for long periods, so he’ll do best with structure and a plan when home alone. On leash, Wally can be a strong puller at times, but it’s manageable and he does best with guidance—a front-clip harness would really help set him up for success. He enjoys being outside, exploring, and soaking up the sun, but he also has a super sweet and affectionate side. He’ll come over for attention, gently take treats, sit on cue, and happily roll onto his back for belly rubs. Wally has shown some sensitivity to the shelter environment, especially when hearing other dogs, but he’s able to settle and refocus on his own. He also has a prey drive for small animals, so he’ll do best in a home without cats or small pets. Overall, Wally is a loving, playful pup with a great foundation and so much potential. With a little structure, continued training, and lots of love, he’s sure to make an amazing companion.
