Hello, my name is Duke! I'm a sweet and energetic boy who recently made the move from New York to my foster family in Ohio. My foster family loves me dearly and is sad to see me go, but unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, they can no longer keep me. I'm a big cuddle bug who loves to be with my people, and I'm also great with kids and dogs of all sizes! I have six dog siblings and six human siblings at my foster home, and I enjoy playing with them all.
Ideal Home
Duke would thrive in a home where he can get plenty of exercise and attention. He loves to chew, so plenty of chew toys are a must! While Duke is generally good with other dogs, he needs to learn better boundaries, as he sometimes doesn't take hints well when his furry friends have had enough. He also needs to learn to be more mindful of his size and strength, as he can accidentally knock people over or hurt them when jumping up.
Ongoing Health
Duke is a healthy boy with no known ongoing health concerns.
Training & Support
Duke knows "sit" and "come" but doesn't always listen. He is very food-motivated, which will be a great asset during training! He is also a bit fearful and may cower if it seems like he's in trouble or could be hit, a result of his past experiences. Please do not use a corrective collar on him, as he is very afraid of them. Duke barks when he needs attention or when he sees or hears something outside, but he doesn't bark unnecessarily. He currently eats in his crate to avoid conflict with his foster siblings, and he does well in his crate when left alone.
