Hi there! I'm Misty Mae, a sweet and loyal Retriever, Spaniel, and Carolina Dog mix, born around May 14, 2023, and weighing in at 38lbs. My foster family says I'm a wonderful house guest – I'm already housebroken and kennel trained, and I thrive on a good routine. I'm also quite smart and love to learn, especially when tasty treats are involved!
I enjoy being part of whatever my people are doing, whether we're out for a walk, running errands, or just relaxing at home. I have a playful spirit but am just as happy to snuggle up for a quiet evening together. When I first arrived in foster care, I was a bit shy, but with patience and love, my confidence has blossomed beautifully. It's been so rewarding to discover how wonderful life can be when you feel safe and loved.
Ideal Home
I get along well with small dogs and appreciate a slow introduction to new canine friends. While I don't mind other dogs, larger dogs can sometimes be a bit overwhelming for me, so a home that understands this would be wonderful.

I am kennel and potty trained. I am eager to learn and food-motivated, making me a great candidate for continued training. I'm also offered 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.

Transporation
I am located in Houston, TX, and transport is included in my adoption fee! Please note that pickup locations for transported dogs may vary, including to nearby towns or states. We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles. Adopters can track their dog's journey using the Life360 app and will receive updates along the way. Facebook groups are also available for transport tracking information.
