Rufus

Hi, I'm Rufus! I'm a sweet, goofy, and affectionate boy who can be a little shy at first, but once I get to know you, I'm a total party animal! I've overcome a lot since arriving at the shelter after a difficult start, and I've shown everyone here how much love and potential I have. I already know "sit" and "shake," and I'm learning to take treats gently. I was found as part of a group of dogs who had been roaming, and sadly, no one came to claim me. Now, I'm ready to find my forever family!

Ideal Home

I would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy kids (12+) who are experienced with large, energetic breeds, as I'm still working on my manners and can be a bit clumsy. I would likely do well with another dog of similar size and energy level. Apartment living is not recommended for me due to my size and energy needs, as I've primarily been an outdoor dog.

Ongoing Health

I will need to be neutered and microchipped before going to my new home.

Training & Support

I'm already appearing to be potty trained! While not required, positive reward-based obedience classes would be very beneficial for me.
