Dempsey

Dempsey is a 2-year-old Neo mix with a medium energy level. He's a bit shy and hesitant around new people and in unfamiliar situations, but once he feels safe and comfortable, his playful, goofy, and silly personality shines through! Dempsey's early life was marked by instability, which has made him a flight risk. He's still learning to trust, and his first instinct is to flee when feeling overwhelmed. With patience and understanding, he blossoms into a loving companion.

Ideal Home

Dempsey would do best in a home with older children (12+) who have experience and training with giant breeds. He may be able to live with cats if introduced slowly and carefully. He could also potentially share his home with a large female dog over 40 lbs. Due to his flight risk, adopters must be extremely cautious around doors and when outside until Dempsey feels secure in his new environment.

Ongoing Health

Dempsey is fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Dempsey is housebroken, leash-trained, and knows how to use a dog door. Adopters will need to continue reinforcing his training and providing consistent guidance as he adjusts. His past experiences mean he needs adopters committed to helping him build confidence and trust.

Dempsey is located at The Bullpen Way Station & Sanctuary. We adopt nationwide, but preference is given to adopters willing to meet in person.
