Ritchey Roo, affectionately known as Richard, is an approximately 5-6 year old, 90-pound bundle of joy! This handsome hound mix is a delightful paradox, capable of being both a laid-back couch potato and an exuberant burst of energy. He absolutely adores his people and thrives on companionship, happily lounging around indoors and out, always seeking to be in your presence. Ritchey is house-trained and comfortable being left alone. While he can be a quiet companion, get that leash or see you at the door, and he's instantly ready for adventure! He's gentle and loving, though his enthusiasm, especially around food or when the leash appears, can lead to him being a bit of a jumper. Ritchey's a vocal guy, but he only speaks when he has something to say, and his unique pronouncements are often quite humorous. He enjoys car rides and walks, but be prepared for some leash training as he can be a strong puller. Ritchey's ideal day involves lounging around the house and playing in a securely fenced yard. He's not a "velcro dog" and is quite independent, but he certainly loves your company. He's well-traveled, having spent time in foster care and boarding facilities, where he's been a favorite due to his easygoing nature and good company.

Ritchey would love a home with a fenced yard where he can safely explore and burn off some energy. He is looking for a home where he can be the only cherished pet.
Ongoing Health
Ritchey came to us underweight, and while we've helped him gain weight, he could now benefit from a diet and increased physical activity to reach a healthier weight.
Training & Support
Ritchey has learned the "OVER" command for bed-sharing, demonstrating his trainability. He does require leash training as he can be a strong puller. His enthusiastic greetings, especially when food or a leash is involved, mean he can sometimes jump.
