Meet Rio! This charming 1-year-old, 19lb Chihuahua & Dachshund mix is full of love to give. While Rio might be a little shy at first, a little time and a few treats will reveal his affectionate and loyal personality. He enjoys cozying up in blankets and will often peek around corners just to get a glimpse of you, looking for his next loving moment.

Ideal Home

Rio would thrive in a calm home where he can feel safe and secure, and would do best without young children. He loves other dogs and cats, but benefits from slow introductions to larger dogs. A fenced-in yard is a must for Rio to continue practicing his leash walking skills in a safe environment.

Training & Support

Rio is still working on his leash manners and would benefit from a patient adopter to help him build confidence. He is already potty trained and crate trained, and he loves his crate so much that we hope his new home can provide him with 24/7 access to it.
