BAXTER (Gorgeous Low Shedding Boy, Loving, Sweet, Good with Kids & Dogs)

Baxter is a handsome, scruffy Irish Wolfhound/Giant Schnauzer mix who weighs 80 pounds and brings a sweet, loving personality to every adventure. He enjoys cuddling with his humans, playing with squeaky toys, and showing off his excellent fetch skills. After exploring outdoors, Baxter is happy to relax with his family.

He was rescued after being abandoned and is now thriving in foster care. Baxter is big and strong, very low-shedding, curious, playful, affectionate, and independent. He would make a wonderful adventure companion and is equally happy settling in for a quiet evening.

Ideal Home

• Baxter gets along with other dogs and seems especially comfortable with female dogs.
• He is currently fostering with children ages 3 and 5, but because he does not always realize his size, a home with older children may be a better fit.
• A home without cats or chickens is recommended, as Baxter is curious about them.
• He would enjoy a family that likes outdoor activities, exploration, and plenty of companionship.

Ongoing Health

• Baxter is neutered and microchipped.
• He is current on all vaccines.
• He receives Credelio for flea and tick prevention and Interceptor Plus for heartworm prevention.
• He will receive a full veterinary checkup and health certificate before travel.

Training & Support

• Baxter is crate trained and house trained.
• He is learning leash skills.
• He is not destructive and has not been a chewer, though he once found a foster's shoe interesting.
• He sits still for baths and enjoys drinking from a garden hose.
