Phil

Phil is a pittie mix with the goofiest personality. He was originally adopted out as a puppy, but a year later his owners surrendered him to a shelter. Luckily, we were contacted and able to bring him back into our care. He is now thriving and ready to find his forever family! Even though he had a rough start in life, he is still the happiest and sweetest boy. He LOVES kisses and snuggles; all you need to do is kneel down, and he’s right there!

Ideal Home

Phil would love to have dog siblings that match his high energy to play with! He needs a yard to burn energy, so he will do best in a single-family home (no apartments). He is child-friendly and currently living with an infant, so he may do well with an infant he can grow with. He does amazing with older kids that understand boundaries (no hugging or sneaking up on him), but we are not suggesting toddlers right away as they may be too unpredictable for him at first. No cats or small animals, please!

Training & Support

Phil knows sit, shake, easy, stay (this is a newer command that he is working to master), and down. He walks well on a martingale collar and does okay on a flat collar. He corrects well from other dogs and prefers mental stimulation over walks. Phil needs help learning manners, as his original adopters didn’t provide him with structure. He will need consistency and patience, but he has improved so much in the last few months! He is also crate-trained and potty-trained.
