Atticus

Meet Atticus, a 2-year-old, 51-pound bundle of pure Berger Picard/Briard joy! Don't let his scruffy terrier-like photos fool you; Atticus is a medium-sized herding dog with a brilliant mind, boundless energy, and a whole lot of drive. He's an active, bouncy, and intelligent boy who truly shines when he has a job to do and clear guidance. Atticus can be incredibly sweet and affectionate, but he thrives on structure and leadership.

Ideal Home

Atticus would be happiest in a more rural or suburban setting, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. A standalone home with a securely fenced yard is essential for this active fellow – apartments and condos aren't the right fit for him. He has shown he can get along with other dogs, but he'll need patient, slow introductions and an experienced handler to help him navigate those friendships. We recommend an adult-only home for Atticus and he would prefer to live without any feline friends.

Ongoing Health

Atticus is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered.

Training & Support

Because of his herding instincts, Atticus needs an adopter with experience with herding or working breeds who understands his needs. Providing him with consistent structure, leadership, and ample mental and physical stimulation will be key to his success. Without this, his herding instincts might lead to nipping or him redirecting frustration.
