Gunner from TEXAS

Gunner is a goofy, happy 3-year-old male black-and-tan hound mix who weighs about 50 pounds. Rescued from a rural small-town dog pound, he is affectionate, playful, and loves human attention, toys, treats, and playing with other dogs.

Gunner enjoys relaxing indoors in the air conditioning, especially snoozing on the couch. He also enjoys short outdoor play sessions with his friends before coming back inside to cool off.

Ideal Home

Gunner is good with other dogs. As a typical hound, he may bark at people, dogs, and cats he sees in the neighborhood, and he becomes very excited about squirrels. He may also counter-surf and explore unsecured cabinets or garbage, so a home prepared for these hound behaviors would be a good fit.

Ongoing Health

Gunner is neutered, tattooed, fully vaccinated for DAPPvL2, Bordetella, and rabies, and microchipped. He has been treated for heartworms, is now heartworm-negative, and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention.

Training & Support

Gunner is crate-trained and goes into his crate when told. He obeys, comes when called, rides well in a vehicle, sits for treats, walks on a leash, and is comfortable with baths.
