Mattie was rescued from the streets of Guadalajara, Mexico, in May of 2026. She's a Shih Tzu mix with a beautiful long beige coat that will need regular grooming. We estimate she's around 2 years old and weighs a healthy 15 pounds as of June 2026. Mattie is an independent girl who enjoys her own adventures in the yard, but she also loves a good cuddle and will happily drift off to sleep in your arms. She's quirky, fun, sweet, and loving, making her an easy companion. Mattie is playful with dogs of most sizes, but especially enjoys the company of those her own size or smaller. She's quiet and a little reserved, with a wonderful balance of calm and spontaneous energy. Mattie will be a great couch buddy and a fantastic companion for errands, beach trips, and walks. She's house-trained and walks well on a leash.

Ongoing Health
Mattie is sterilized, fully vaccinated, up-to-date on parasite prevention, and tested negative for heartworm and Lyme disease. She will receive a complete blood panel and be microchipped before her journey to you. You will receive her health records upon adoption.

Transporation
Mattie is currently in Jalisco, Mexico. Transportation to the United States is included in the adoption fee and will be coordinated by us, flying from Guadalajara International Airport (GDL) or Leon Bajio International Airport (BJX). We are happy to arrange for potential adopters to visit Mattie in Guadalajara before adoption.
