Peabody

Peabody is a charming 2-year-old Rat Terrier mix who came to us from an overcrowded rural shelter in Kentucky. He was quite overwhelmed by his previous environment and was understandably shut down. Upon arriving at his foster home, he was initially very shy, but it didn't take long for his true, affectionate personality to shine through! We have video evidence that Peabody is a true "Velcro" dog, always wanting to be close to his people. He enjoys the company of dogs his own size but can be a bit bossy with larger canine companions. He'd be happy as the sole furry friend in a home or with another playful dog his size. When it's time to relax, Peabody loves to snuggle on the couch and will even be the "big spoon" at night, fitting perfectly into your side. He'll likely need about 3 days to decompress in a new environment, but once he's settled, he'll melt into your lap like butter.

Ideal Home

Peabody would thrive in a home where he can be close to his people. He seems to do best with dogs his own size.

Ongoing Health

Peabody is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. He has been heartworm tested.

Training & Support

Peabody may need a few days to adjust to a new home. Once he feels secure, he is sure to be a devoted companion.

Transporation

Peabody is located in Crossville, Tennessee. Local adoptions are preferred. Transport outside of Tennessee may be available for an additional fee to cover transport and USDA requirements.
