Willow is a sweet girl who is dog and kid friendly and will be available for adoption in late July. She's ready to find her forever family and bring joy to your home!
Ideal Home
Willow would thrive in a home that understands the needs of a Great Pyrenees. Applicants should be aware that this breed can be stubborn, prone to barking, and overly protective. They cannot be trusted off-leash, and their boundaries cannot be trained out of them. It's important that all family members are in agreement about adopting Willow and that your family is ready to welcome her home now. We only adopt within the New England area.
Ongoing Health
All of our dogs are altered, up to date on age-appropriate core vaccines, negative for parasites, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Willow will come with a current health certificate.
Training & Support
Prospective adopters must be at least 21 years old. We do not have blanket criteria for adoptions; each applicant is considered based on factors such as breed experience, yard (a visible fence is preferred), and other animals in the home. We generally avoid placing Pyrs in same-sex households, as they typically do not do well with the same sex. Proof of a basic obedience course completed is part of our adoption contract within six months.
Application Details:
- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
- Your vet and two references will be called.
- A virtual home visit will be conducted.
- If approved, a meet and greet at the farm will take place.
- If all are in agreement, an adoption contract will be signed and the adoption fee paid. The adoption fee for adult dogs is $500.
Transportation
