Hector is a handsome boy who was found wandering the streets of the Houston area as a young puppy. No family. No safe place to sleep. No one looking out for him. Thankfully, he was picked up by a local shelter and kept safe until one of our amazing foster families was able to step in. Instead of growing up in a cold, loud shelter, Hector is now learning what it means to be loved while he waits for a forever family of his own. He is believed to be a Standard Schnauzer and is approximately 5 months old, weighing about 35 pounds. Hector is up-to-date on vaccines, house trained, kennel trained, loves children, is great with other dogs, good with cats, and walks well on a leash and rides well in a car. Standard Schnauzers are intelligent, loyal, and devoted to their people, forming strong bonds and loving to be involved in everyday life. They are playful, athletic, and eager to learn, making them wonderful companions for active households. They are also suitable for people looking for a more hypoallergenic dog. Because they are highly intelligent, Standard Schnauzers enjoy learning new things and thrive with positive training, daily exercise, and plenty of human interaction. They are not dogs that want to spend all day alone; they truly love being part of the family.
Ideal Home
Hector would do best with a family that enjoys spending time together and is excited to help him continue building confidence and good manners. His ideal family will include him in everyday life, provide daily walks and playtime, enjoy training and teaching him new things, and give him plenty of love, structure, and attention. He would welcome a fun, affectionate puppy who will grow into a loyal lifelong companion.
