Meeka - Resilient Ball Player!

Meeka is a gorgeous, petite German Shepherd girl who weighs about 53lbs. She has incredibly soft fur and beautiful brown eyes. At 5-6 years old, she has so much love and companionship left to give.

Meeka is an owner surrender from a family who unfortunately didn't have enough time for her. She can experience anxiety, which can manifest as circling and barking, especially during times of change. However, this is easily managed by redirecting her attention with a favorite toy, like a ball or a stuffed animal. Most of the time, Meeka is a calm dog with low to medium energy, except when she's playing fetch – her absolute favorite activity! She recently had a fantastic time playing soccer with some local high school volunteers, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Meeka is sweet and friendly with everyone she meets. She's incredibly loyal and comforting, loving to stay close and cuddle on the couch. She is exceptionally gentle, even taking food and treats with the softest touch. Meeka is wonderful and non-reactive with other dogs, unfazed by them. She walks well on a leash and is great on car rides. While she hasn't been cat-tested, she doesn't seem to have a strong prey drive, so she might do well with cats with some gentle introduction.

Ideal Home

Meeka would thrive in a home where she can get plenty of playtime, especially fetch! She loves to be close to her people and would enjoy a family that appreciates her comforting presence and cuddling on the couch.

Ongoing Health

Meeka is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Meeka is house-trained and does not require a crate. She enjoys being pampered and groomed. While she can experience anxiety, redirecting her with a favorite toy or game is very effective.
