Montana

Montana is a beautiful, friendly, and good-natured young adult dog, believed to be around 2 years old. She was found as a stray and never claimed, but has blossomed in our care. Montana is a graduate of the Paws in Prison program, where she spent 8 weeks with inmate trainers and weekly sessions with a certified dog trainer. She learned an impressive array of commands, including sit, down, stand, focus, wait, release stay, front/side heel sit, come, leave it, easy, kennel, roll over, and play dead!

Ideal Home

Montana is a high-energy girl who gets along well with other dogs, cats, and kids. However, she can be a bit overzealous in her play and doesn't always read other dogs' cues when they've had enough. An adopter who can manage her enthusiasm and provide ongoing socialization will be key to her success.

Ongoing Health

Montana is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, and current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Training & Support

While Montana knows many commands, she can be a bit independent and may sometimes ignore them. She also needs to work on her leash manners. Continued positive reinforcement training will help her polish these skills and thrive.

Transportation

Montana is currently located in Arkansas. Local adoptions are welcome, and transport is available to the New England area. Adopters must be able to pick up or arrange for pick-up in PA, NJ, or CT on Saturdays.
