About Chief

Chief is a sweet, older gentleman who is looking for his final, loving home. He enjoys being by your side, whether it's snuggling on his pillow or accompanying you on your daily activities. Chief is house-trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. He bonds deeply with his people and has plenty of spirit for adventures, despite his age. He enjoys life on the farm but is ready for a family of his own. He gets along with other dogs after proper introductions but might not be the best fit for a home with cats, as he's known to chase them. Chief is intelligent and eager to please, and may do well with further training. He has experience with e-collar and bark collar training (used on tone setting, and he doesn't bark when wearing it).

Ideal Home

Chief needs a home without children of any age, as he has a history of being harmed by a child and does not trust them. He would do best in an adult-only household. If children visit, he should be kenneled and kept separate.

Ongoing Health

Chief is an older dog and deserves a comfortable place to relax. He has had no specific health issues mentioned other than his age.

Training & Support

Chief can be a strong puller on the leash and needs a confident handler to guide him. He's also very resistant to having his feet touched, making nail trims a challenge; he will likely require sedation for successful nail trims. He needs consistent, firm direction to walk nicely by your side.
