About Nesta

Meet Nesta, a beautiful 3-year-old, 50-pound Catahoula Leopard Dog mix with a heart full of love to give! She was found with her family living under an abandoned house, and thankfully, they were all brought to safety. Nesta is fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and eagerly awaiting her forever home. She's described as a soft-hearted and slightly mysterious girl, who can be a bit shy and timid, especially with loud noises. Once she trusts you, she transforms into a playful best friend, showering her humans with loving gazes. She enjoys gentle pets and will greet visitors after she feels comfortable. She's an easy dog to love, as long as you offer her patience and understanding.

Ideal Home

Nesta would thrive in a home with patience, structure, and a playful canine companion to help build her confidence. She needs a home with older children who can respect her gentle, timid nature and understand her boundaries. She is not suited for first-time dog owners, homes with cats, or households with young children due to her timid nature and tendency to startle easily. She thrives in a structured, calm environment.

Ongoing Health

Nesta is a healthy girl, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed.

Training & Support

Nesta is fully potty and crate trained and will only go potty outside. She is crated when her foster mom is away and can be left to free-roam for short periods. She is hesitant on the leash but stays close and doesn't pull. She knows "sit" and learns new cues quickly. She is a sensitive girl who startles easily, so slow and respectful introductions are key. She's not reactive to strangers or men but needs a moment to observe.
