Axel

Meet Axel! This sweet German Shepherd boy has finally made it to San Diego and is looking for a foster or forever home to call his own. At around 3.5 years old and over 85 pounds, Axel is a gentle giant with a heart of gold. Axel walks well on leash and loves car rides. He loves laying at his humans feet and being their little shadows. He definitely thinks he's a lap dog because he is not afraid to climb right up, welcoming pets and head scratches. He's dog-friendly and would absolutely love a yard to play in and a family to shower with affection. He does great with kids as young as 2 and is very gentle.

Axel would absolutely love a yard to play in and a family to shower with affection. Because he's very curious about the outside world, Axel needs a home with a tall fence to keep him safe.

Axel is neutered and up to date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Axel only barks when other dogs start the chorus and when the doorbell rings; like most German Shepherds, he'll go on high alert and be ready to patrol the house and yard for intruders. Axel is looking for a patient family who will give him the time he needs to come out of his shell and show him the love he deserves.
