About Sirius Celestial

Sirius looks like someone accidentally hit the "shrink" setting on a Labrador Retriever and honestly? We are obsessed with the results LOL. This boy has the soulful lab eyes, the floppy ears, the lovable puppy personality, and the happy-go-lucky charm everyone adores... just packed into a much smaller body than expected. Hes the kind of puppy that instantly makes people smile because everything about him feels soft, sweet, and easy to love. Between the floppy ears that seem to have a personality of their own, the adorable sleepy expressions, and the way he happily rotates between snacks, naps, sunbathing, and playtime like its his personal life philosophy, Sirius has this incredibly comforting little presence about him that sneaks up on your heart really fast.

Watch his video and prepare to immediately become emotionally attached to his ears:

Sirius is believed to be a Lab/Chihuahua mix approximately 7 months old and currently weighs 26 lbs. And yes... we fully understand how ridiculous that combination sounds LOL. Welcome to rescue, where breed guesses are basically educated chaos. Sirius definitely has the look of a little Labrador, but because of his smaller size and compact body, Chihuahua somehow ended up entering the conversation. Truly a Texas special through and through. Hes definitely on the smaller side and may not get much bigger, but with rescue its always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age.

Sirius is still a young puppy and very much learning the world around him, but he has such a naturally sweet and gentle disposition. He can initially take a little time warming up to new people, dogs, and unfamiliar environments simply because he hasn't been exposed to a ton yet. There's absolutely nothing difficult about him whatsoever, hes honestly just innocent. The type of puppy that still looks to others for reassurance while he figures things out. Once he settles in though, his goofy playful side starts coming out and you really get to see how lovable he is.

He is currently fostered with three dogs larger than him and does wonderfully with them. Sirius loves playful wrestling matches and lighthearted games of chase, but he does appreciate respectful introductions and slower warm-ups with new dogs. He would do best with another dog that wont immediately overwhelm him or come on too strong right away. Once comfortable though, he absolutely enjoys having dog friends to play and lounge around with.

One thing that really stands out about Sirius is how polite and well-mannered he already is for such a young puppy. He LOVES treats, already knows how to sit, and his foster even shared that she can line all of the dogs up together for treats while Sirius patiently waits his turn alongside everyone else. Honestly, that level of self-control at only 7 months old is pretty impressive LOL. He is crate trained, potty trained, and has really lovely house manners overall. Like any puppy transitioning into a new home, he may need reminders about where the appropriate potty spots are initially, but he already has an amazing foundation started.

Energy-wise, Sirius really feels like the perfect middle ground. He enjoys playing, exploring, and being outside, but hes not an over-the-top chaotic puppy that needs constant entertainment every waking second. In fact, hes honestly pretty chill for his age and fully embraces the eat, sleep, play, repeat lifestyle... with a little extra emphasis on the sleep part LOL. He has such a nice well-balanced energy where he can have fun and then settle down beautifully afterward.

Sirius would thrive in a home with a backyard because he genuinely loves being outside. One of his favorite activities is simply laying in the sun soaking everything in and enjoying the fresh air. Continued socialization and exposure to new experiences will be important for helping him continue building confidence, but he already has all the makings of becoming an incredibly well-rounded dog.

If you've been wanting a puppy that still has all the lovable sweetness and fun of puppyhood without feeling nonstop overwhelming, Sirius might honestly be exactly who you've been looking for. We are willing to test him with anything you need in order to ensure its a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.
